If you have never tried a Crab melt sandwich, you are missing out on one of the most delicious and indulgent dishes. This sandwich is a classic combination of crab meat and melted cheese. With this twist on the traditional “sandwich,” we use low-carb wraps instead of bread slices.

My hubby fell in love with these crab melt sandwiches. He loves to dip them into Sour Cream, lemon juice,  and Hot Sauce mixture. (Don’t ask) to each their own I guess. Crab melt sandwiches are not only a delicious and simple recipe, but they are also easy to make and a quick lunch for those of us always on the go. All you need is some crab meat, cheese, and your choice of low-carb wraps. You can even add some extra ingredients like onions or bell peppers for added flavor and texture.

Crab melt sandwich cooking on pan

Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet over medium heat, and toast the wraps evenly on all sides until golden brown and crispy.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Cheese – Use any type of cheese you have on hand, I love cheddar cheese, gruyere cheese or Mozzarella Cheese, Any melty cheese. I have made this with a slice of American cheese before and it was pretty good as well.
  • Crab meat – If you don’t have fresh crab meat available, canned crab meat works just as well. You can substitute with canned crab meat or if you are a fan of imitation crab meat. Make sure to drain it before using.
  • Mayonnaise – You can also substitute the mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a healthier option.
  • Garlic – Feel free to add more or less garlic depending on your preference.
  • Toppings – Feel free to add other toppings like avocado, bell peppers, or green onion to add more flavor and texture to the wraps.
